Job Title: Meeting Producer
Organization: Spencer Cable Access
Location: Spencer, MA
Position Type: Contract (by assignment)
Compensation: Minimum of $75 per meeting, $100 if meeting exceeds 3 hours (negotiable based on experience)

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to get involved in your local community and gain valuable skills? Spencer Cable Access is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Meeting Producer. This role is perfect for someone interested in media production, technology, and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Meeting Coverage: Attend and produce Planning Board meetings on 3 Tuesdays a month starting at 7:00 PM.
- Operate Production Equipment: You will be trained to use our production equipment, including the Tricaster system.
- Recording and Broadcasting: Ensure high-quality recording and broadcasting of Planning Board meetings.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support during live broadcasts, troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Community Engagement: Contribute to your community by making important local government proceedings accessible to residents.
- Flexibility: Be prepared to work evenings as per the meeting schedule.
Qualifications
- Tech-Savvy: Must be comfortable working with technology and willing to learn.
- Previous Experience: Experience with the Tricaster system is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Reliable: Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Location: Spencer, MA (On-Site and Remote)

We are currently seeking a Contract Reporter to join our team. This role involves covering school committee meetings, reporting on local news, and crafting engaging special interest stories that resonate with our audience. We may also cover stories from neighboring areas if they directly impact Spencer.
Responsibilities
- Attend and report on school committee meetings, summarizing key discussions and decisions
- Cover local news stories, including events, developments, and issues affecting the community
- Research and write in-depth special interest stories that captivate our audience
- Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of news content
- Adhere to strict deadlines and editorial guidelines
Requirements
- Strong news writing experience and a keen eye for detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on grammar and style
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the local community
- Access to reliable transportation and the flexibility to attend meetings and events as required
